Searching for a companion

The **Find a companion** page lists every vetted companion. Search by where care is needed, then narrow the list by service, language, community and more.

Where to search

Go to Find a companion. Anyone can browse companions without signing in. To save companions and message them, sign in first.

Searching by city or postal code

Saheli shows the companions whose travel reach covers that place first, then more companions to consider. A postal code is cut to its first three characters, so the search stays at the level of your area.

Search by city or postal code, not a street address. Your exact address stays private until you choose to share it.

  1. Type a city or a Canadian postal code in City or postal code.
  2. Select Search.

Searching for someone you care about

If you have a care profile, the search bar shows Care for: with a choice for each person. Choose For and their name to search near their home. Saheli does not show their address on the page.

Choosing a person also sets the language filter from their care profile. You can change it like any other filter. To search a city instead, select Change, or choose Anyone.

Narrowing the results

Use the Refine panel beside the results. On a phone, select Filters. Each choice applies as soon as you make it.

  • Service: what you need help with.
  • Community: companions who know a community and its culture well.
  • Language: tick one or more. Companions who speak any of them are shown.
  • Companion preference: a companion's gender.
  • Experience: years of experience.
  • Up to hourly rate: the most you want to pay an hour.
  • Record checked: only companions with a current police or vulnerable sector check that the Saheli team has checked.

Choosing a service

Each service has its own page saying exactly what a companion does and does not do. Read it before you choose, so you know what to ask for.

Accompaniment means a companion goes with you. They never drive you.

Seeing and removing filters

Every filter you have on shows as a chip above the results. Select a chip to remove that filter, or select Clear all to start again.

Sorting the results

Use Sort to change the order: Recommended, Closest, Price: low to high, Most experienced, Highest rated or Newest.

Closest works when you search for someone on a care profile, because their home is where Saheli measures the distance from.

Comparing and saving companions

Each result shows the companion's photo, their badges, their rating, their starting hourly rate and the services they offer. Select View profile to read more.

Select the heart to save a companion to your shortlist. Your shortlist is under Saved companions on your dashboard.

City pages

Some cities have their own page, such as Companion care in and the city's name, listed on the home page. Each shows companions who travel there, with See everyone near to open the full search.
