Tell families when you are free. Saheli does not assign shifts or send you to a home.

Your languages, cooking, customs, and life experience help a family find the right fit.
Know the limits before you apply
Companion work supports ordinary days. It does not replace nursing or regulated home care.
Work you can agree to
- Conversation, games, walks, and company
- Cooking, laundry, light tidying, and errands
- Reminders for plans and medication already set by the family
- Company at appointments and community activities
Work you must refuse
- Injections, wound care, or medical decisions
- Lifting or transferring someone who cannot bear their own weight
- Managing money or signing documents for someone
- Any task that needs a regulated health professional
Who can apply
A clear eligibility check
Paid care experience helps, but it is not the only kind of experience that counts. Supporting someone in your own family can count too.
You do not need a nursing qualification or a car. Some family requests may need one, and you can choose whether those requests suit you.
- You are 18 or older and legally allowed to work in Canada
- You can give references we can contact
- You will meet a member of the Saheli team for an interview
- You can communicate clearly in English or in the language a family needs

We review each stage before a profile can appear to families.

Tell us about your experience, languages, availability, and the type of work you want.

Meet the Saheli team
Have a short interview by video or in person. We learn about you and answer your questions.

Add your documents
A criminal record check is optional. If you provide one, we review it ourselves and your profile carries a verified badge families can see. Certificates are welcome too.

Publish your profile
If accepted, you choose what appears on your profile and which family requests to answer.
