How-to

Creating a care profile

A care profile holds the details about the person receiving care: who they are, where care happens, and what helps a companion support them well. It can be for someone you care about, or for yourself.

Starting a care profile

You can add more than one care profile later from Care profiles, with Add profile.

The person who books a companion, and the holder of the card that pays, need to be 18 or older. The person receiving care can be any age.

  1. From your home page, select Arrange care for someone, or Add a care profile.
  2. Fill in the Basic details tab.
  3. Select Next: Picture ID and add a photo ID.
  4. Select Create care profile.

Who needs care

Choose Me if the care is for you, or Someone else if you are arranging it for another person. For someone else, you also say how they are related to you.

Choosing Me fills in your name from your account.

Where care takes place

Say what kind of place it is, then add the care address. Start typing and choose the address from the suggestions. If the care happens where you live, Use my account address copies it in.

The address stays private to your family and the Saheli team.

The picture ID

A care profile is created together with a photo ID, and the Saheli team checks it before you can book.

For someone else, add their own photo ID and confirm you have their permission to share it. If they have no photo ID of their own, for example a young child, you can use yours instead.

Adding the rest later

Only the basics are needed to create the profile. Open the profile and select Edit profile to fill in the other tabs, then Save changes.

  • Care needs: things about the home, getting around, reminders, and interests and routines.
  • Preferences: languages, communities and cultural context, the services needed, and any companion preference.
  • Emergency contact: someone Saheli can reach if a visit needs urgent attention, and an optional second contact.

Choosing the services needed

Each service is defined on its own page, so you know exactly what a companion does and does not do. Read them before you choose.

Ready to book

Before you can book a companion, a care profile needs these. If something is missing, Saheli shows a note with a link to the tab that needs it.

  • An answer to Who needs care?
  • The full care address
  • An emergency contact name and phone number
  • A picture ID checked by the Saheli team

Who sees the profile

The profile is private to your family and the Saheli team. Companions see only the care details that help with a visit.

Saheli does not share the street address with a companion or anyone else. If you want your companion to have it, you choose to share it yourself, for example in a message.
