How-to
Writing a strong profile
Your public profile is what families see when they search: your photo, a short bio, your languages and communities, and how far you travel. A clear, honest profile helps the right families find you.

Finding your profile
On your checklist, select Your public profile. Once you are accepted, it is on your companion home. The page is called How families see you.
Select Save profile when you are done. You can come back and change it at any time.
Your photo
Use a clear, recent photo of yourself on your own, with your face easy to see. Families see it in search and on your profile, and it helps them recognise you at the door.
Choose the photo, then select Upload photo. To change it later, select Replace photo.
Your short bio
Write a few sentences in your own words. Families want to know who will be spending time with the person they care about.
- The kind of company and help you enjoy giving.
- Experience that fits, paid or with your own family.
- Interests you could share: cooking, walks, music, prayer, games, conversation in your languages.
Keeping your bio within the work
Describe only what Saheli companions do, even if you are trained to do more. Each service has its own page saying exactly what it includes.
Companions do not give medical or nursing care, administer medication, counsel or give advice, lift or transfer anyone, handle money or sign documents, or take on anything else that needs a regulated health professional. They can remind someone of a medication schedule the family has already set.
Leave your phone number and email out too. Families reach you through Saheli messages.
- What each service includesAll of Saheli's services, each with its own page.
Languages and communities
Add every language you can hold a comfortable conversation in. At least one is needed.
Communities and cultural context is optional, but families can search by community, so adding the ones you know well helps them find you.
Where you are and how far you travel
Based in shows the city of your home address; it changes when your address does. Families see your city, and Saheli does not share your street address with anyone.
Travel reach in km is how far you are willing to go for a visit. Families searching nearby see you if they are within it.
You also add your Gender and Years of experience.
What stays private
Your profile also asks for a Private emergency contact, someone Saheli can reach if something urgent comes up. Families do not see it, or your phone number, address, or documents.
After you are accepted
Keep your profile current as things change. Saving changes does not send your profile back for review.
