Guide 06 of 52 Why this mattersA bedroom is where the day starts and ends, and both often happen slowly, in low light, half awake. Most of what makes it safer is simple: keep what you need within reach of the bed, keep the floor clear, and keep clothes where a hand finds them. One point is easy to miss. Putting on socks, trousers or shoes while standing on one leg is a balance test nobody needs to take every morning. Sit on the edge of the bed or a firm chair with arms.
